Pike Trail Leg Gaiters – Waterproof and Adjustable Snow Boot Gaiters for Hiking, Walking, Hunting, Mountain Climbing and Snowshoeing

I went hiking to Mt. Baldy yesterday, on the first day of fresh snow, and these gators did not disappoint!!! Snow levels were 1 to 4 feet deep and MANY times during the hike I sank down to my waist. My legs were completely dry after hiking nearly 8 miles for almost 7 hours in deep snow. I read many reviews regarding the buckle strap snapping so to avoid any issues I bought some 2 x 18 “ Velcro straps and tied them down firmly around my ankles. Problem solved!

Two weeks ago I wore my Pike gators for the first time on a winter hike in the Adirondacks. Halfway into the day the strap broke.. snow got in my boots and was uncomfortable and cold the rest of the trip. Immediately when I got home I called Pike direct and spoke to Josh the owner of the business. He couldn’t be more friendly and did exactly what a good business owner should do. He explained they had some manufacturing issues and said they had it worked out and sent me a new pair which I received in about 5 days-in time to use with out fail!! Thanks Josh the gators were comfortable, durable and kept out the deep snow!

I am using these gaiters for a specific purpose-to keep my lower legs dry when I pressure wash my pavers. These work perfectly for that. I wear them with my garden boots that have no laces and a small heel. As these gaiters do not need to be anchored at the bottom by laces (like others I have seen) and I can put the buckle strap by the heel of the boot so it does not really touch the ground (and therefore won't be worn through as readily by walking on it) I feel they should last me quite a while. I wear sweat pants and so far the gaiters have not slid down. Solidly constructed for my purposes and fit just fine on my short cankle-like legs.

These gaiters survived 1 trip up a Colorado "14er". I realize this isn't your average hiking but it should last more than 1 trip. The strap on the bottom broke on both legs, rendering it totally useless.Probably buy a more expensive, more durable pair.

Was able to use these recently on a hunting trip and they were very durable and worked well at keeping briars and mud off of my pants. I appreciated that the buckles and leg cinch were metal because they will likely hold up better under abuse. My wife is about 5 inches shorter than I am and she was actually able to wear them comfortably also on a hike because they are very adjustable. All around a great set of gaiters that should hold up well.

Good product. But I tested this on a 6 day Elk hunt in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and they didn't really hold up. Rough country and really put these to the test. One ripped at the bottom, not badly but it was noticeable and was slowly getting worse. The other one lost the rivets that held the retainer piece that hooks on to the boot laces. They were comfortable and did the job. Not too bad, and a good price.

I bought these to use when shoveling snow to keep my pant legs dry. I've had other gaiters before which were no where close to the quality of these. I highly recommend them. They come with a lifetime warranty,... but I don't know what the warranty details are... strange, I know. But, if I get couple of winters out of them, I'll be happy!

Sprayed down with Permethrin, they are great as an extra layer of protection from ticks while working in the fields or woods. Highly recommend these. Very easy on and off and after two weeks of using them, they work. Not to mention protection from briars and low brush.

There was condensation when I removed them from my boots. A breathable material would be better but probably more expensive.

Appear good time will tell how they last!!

I used them once and boot strap ripped off after trying to adjust it. The rest is built very well but the straps are poor quality.
