The definitive must-have item if you wish to advance as a guitarist with possibly the greatest singer-songwriter of our time.Apologies to Dylan, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell...and the younger generations of artists.For us old school of folk-rock lineage, there is none better than S&G and this book is the best I have found of its' kind. Allow me to explain: I do read music and tablature but...I dislike tab because it requires page turns and presents what I regard as a cluttered page. I usually prefer song books with just the lyrics and chords. As if I don't know the melodies of songs I grew up listening to, right.This book is different. It doesn't just provide prosaic, routine options to arpeggiate through the chords, which is usually kind of obvious. And IMHO each guitarist can find their own preferences which are as much a function of their biomechanics as anything else.How.ever: this particular book provides more sophisticated tablatures, as far as I am concerned, than many, many other books that present tab. In fact, this is actually my second copy of it. The first one has virtually disintegrated from long time use.So, as someone who generally does not like books set up in this manner, I give it a double-five star.As for Paul Simon, he was once asked if he thought himself a poet. His reply was to decline the designation and refer his fans to Wallace Stevens. Be that as it may, more people are familiar with Paul. And is this not poetry on par with Robert Frost? I submit to your attention, as one example: “In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his tradeAnd he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down or cut him‘Til he cried out in his anger and his shameI am leaving, I am leaving, but the fighter still remains.”– The Boxer

Nice selection of Simon and Garfunkel's best know songs, easy to read and play

These songs were far too difficult for my humble beginner skills. I have used this book, however, to teach myself to read music. I am at least able to play the melody lines now. Something to look forward to....

Easy break down of really good songs.

I am enjoying playing the pieces in this book as the songs are great. The book was used in good condition and the price was right for me. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I liked the song selection and for my moderate skill level it fits the bill. I would be reluctant to call "in good shape" but it's exceptable.

This is a decent compilation of some of their iconic songs. If you like 'em, this is for you. Easily played by experienced sight readers. Beautiful melodies and skillful lyrics. As Borat says, "Very nice".

I have an old book of this but it was so marked up and falling apart...I wondered if I could still get a new one.So delighted that Amazon has so many sellers for anything I want.I am really enjoying playing through the songs. The book is in New Condition. Thank you, Thank you!
