Worked right out of the packaging!!
Opened this package up, pulled out the remote, put in batteries, and immediately it worked with my Samsung Smart TV, which didn't have another remote. All the controls seem to work right away as well, no buttons nonfunctional.Only downside however is that it activates my other IR controlled things, but for 7 dollars I could hardly complain.
