Q: is this compatible with the ps4?

Yes it works fine on ps4 had mine since 2019 no issues at all

Q: Do i need different cables for usb 3 or usb 2?

The cable that comes with it is a "USB-B micro", which is rarely used to a "standard old" USB-A connector. I am totally disappointed because neither end plugs into a MacBook Air which only has USB-C connector. You will need either a hub, converted or buy another cable like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09ZP5BHBF

Q: You know if it works with ps4?

Yes, you will need to go to settings in the PS4 under usb devices and reformat the drive to the PS4 and it will work.

Q: Can I plug this into my xbox one and store games on it?

Must be formatted to run as a system drive when you plug it in, i use mine for my ps4
