Aprilaire 80 Steam Canister for Model 800 (2 Pack)

Great price for two canisters. These are very easy to install yourself. Delivery was very quick. Highly recommended.

A steam humidifier is FAR superior to any other type. These canisters are convenient, and last at least the who heating season. I just have my HVAC tech put in a new on each year when he checks the furnace.

This product is a direct replacement for Aprilaire model 800 whole house steam humidifier canister. It needs to be replaced at least annually, sometimes more often. At $80-$100 each, these canisters will keep your system running at top efficiency, and are well worth the price.

These are the factory filters and they work well. The are not cheap, but they do the job!

This item was needed, but it came in a 2 pack. Last year it came as a single item. Pricey for a purchase when 1 item is enough. It will most likely last 2-3 seasons. Now I have to store the additional canister.

Aprilaire's humidifier system works after some hard months to ensure the installation doesn't leak, etc. Once up on plane, the biggest problem with this system are the expendable canisters. They are expensive, and you will go through about three to four of them in a year if you have hard water.

Was shocked when I received my annual new canister and it had a Proposition 65 warning on the outside for Antimony Trioxide, a known carcinogen. Why in the world would Aprilaire put a carcinogen in a product specifically designed to vaporize water and put it in the air of your entire home?I reached out to them and got this response: The compound Antimony Trioxide is used in the plastic that the canister is made up from. This helps the canister be more heat resistant and durable than the previous material the canisters were made from. If our product is used as designed and is undamaged, the compound is unlikely to vaporize or leave the canister.That answer doesn't give me any comfort and I refuse to use the new canisters and potentially jeopardize the health of my family. I'm ripping out my Aprilaire 800 unit and going with a different home humidification solution. It's completely crazy that Aprilaire would do this to customers that have already an installed system and depend on replacement canisters with no alternative other than taking a risk that the Antimony Trioxide won't leach into the water in the canister and therefore into your home's air.

Not very handy but was able to replace this myself in my Aprilaire 800 by following the youtube video from Aprilaire. Saved the HVAC company mark up and service call fee. I'll probably schedule a service call when the cathode wires need to re replaced but that's only every 3 years and now I have a spare for next year or possibly the year after. Very happy
