Easy yo install and your all set, works really well.
Great piece of tech, love my alexa at home now she comes on the road with us and unlike my phone she hears very well and plays whatever I want. Terrific. Connects to your phone when you switch on ignition.

Was going to be sent back...Now love it! If you have constant disconnection issues, read this!
I drive an old 54 plate Honda civic with an aftermarket Sony stereo, which has Bluetooth. I use a Samsung S22 Ultra which connects to it. The whole reason I got this is because I use amazon music to play songs in my car through my Bluetooth stereo, I was able to skip back and forth with my stereo, but if I wanted a specific song I had to unlock my phone (naughty I know), so the music app was up, and then I was able to ask alexa to play a certain song or genre/playlist. I know amazon music can be set to stay lit up on screen, so you can ask alexa to play a song in the amazon music app, but I didn't like this as I didn't want my battery draining.I was originally going to send it back as the echo auto constantly lost connection with my phone...it was driving me mad as couldn't get 2 minutes through a song without it saying 'Sorry, lost connection with the Alexa App'. I tried 'forgetting' the device in my phones Bluetooth list, resetting the echo auto to factory reset...but nothing would work. I thought it was a load of rubbish, loosing patience with it and was going to send it back.I then spoke to customer support through the amazon app and he asked is the alexa app up to date, as this is what the echo auto connects to through your phone's Bluetooth. I thought what a stupid question! of course it is! my phone automatically updates my apps!I went into the Google play store and checked for updates and it said no updates available. I thought I would be thorough and search for the actual alexa app in the play store, I clicked on it, and it said enable?! I thought how can it say enable, when I have the app on my phone and just used it?! After clicking enable it then said update, which I did and reopened the alexa app...it now works perfectly with no connectivity issues what so ever! I couldn't believe something so simple could cause so many issues. So if you have an android device (I'm assuming the same with iphone) be sure the alexa app is up to date. Even if it says no updates in the play store, search for it, click on it and ensure it's 'enabled' and then up to date. I don't understand how it couldn't have been in the first place as I was using the alexa app?! But that solved all my issues with the constant loss of connection. A good addition to the car
Bought one when it was prime day for £20, not.sure they're worth the full price. I found it easy to set up but couldn't get it to connect with aux in, only Bluetooth. It's fairly easy to get your music to play on it, stations from internet radio etc, it opens up a whole new raft of things to play. Sometimes I miss the Alexa acknowledgement tone because it's too quiet and have to repeat my request, that needs to be louder, not sure if anything can be changed in settings? Overall, a good buy at the prime day price, and it's definitely given me more choice for music in the car.

Hopelessly overpriced for a fancy Bluetooth microphone
Having tried and returned the first generation Echo Auto, I was willing to give this a go even at the price of £60. I used with a Sony PRO-I Android phone with Alexa app.The strange box on the power-cord is a speaker which guides you through the setup and announces when the phone is disconnected. I setup my phone with Bluetooth to the cars head-unit then used the Alexa app to connect and setup the Echo Auto.Once setup, the Echo Auto will listen for 'wake word' so you can ask Alexa the weather etc. If you ask directions it'll open Google Maps, stream music from Amazon Music etc.The usual Echo services are available, so you can announce your other devices when you'll be home.Although my head unit doesn't support Android Auto, I found using Echo Auto would flip the phone into Android Auto mode, creating the large icons on the UI etc. There's so many issues with Echo Auto 2.0 it's hard to know where to start!- Really needs an unlimited data plan on your mobile as everything is done over the network- The wiring looks a mess with the 'speaker' on the power wire and a large 12V power plug. If you had this professionally wired-in, I guess it would be OK.- As far as I can tell, you can't limit the music playback to what's been downloaded onto the phone using Amazon Music so you're always relying on a good 4G/5G signal and bandwidth for music streaming.- I have Amazon Music Unlimited, however I can't see an option to stream music in HD- I pay for TomTom Go on the mobi, but I can't see a way to change the default navigation from Google Maps to TomTom (or Waze)- Probably need Android Auto in head unit to get the best experience- Doesn't offer more functionality that Alexa app in auto mode when connected to car Bluetooth, albeit has a good microphone to listen for "wake word"The only advantage is it's 100% handsfree and you don't need to tap the Alexa icon on your phone before speaking a command. If this was £15 I'd consider keeping but at £60 it's going back.

Very Useful when Driving
I wanted to add the new version of Alexa into my car, I used the old version for many years and decided on an upgrade, having the ability to add a smart assistant into any car can make your journey smoother and safer, it looks well made and I like the new look and design of the new model, the AI is very responsive and whilst I use it mostly for song selections, being able to ask for the weather or to call someone or make a note really adds comfort to any car and any long journey, I beilive the asking price is fair for what you get and for how long you would be keeping it for, it was easy to install and I hid the cables away behind my radio, it would be nice for one day a chargable Echo Auto is made so the cable can be removed all together when at full battery to help with the look of the dashboard, but it is easy enough to hide the wire, to stick it onto the dashboard was simple and the magnet is pretty strong so the device won't be falling off anytime soon.
