The zipper teeth are plastic and the zipper is metal.

Q: Has anyone tried to wash and dry this vs hand washing and line drying?

This washes just fine on a regular cycle with similar colors. Have not dried in dryer. Probably would just wear it down but seems like a good enough material/quality to toss in dryer
