Fluke makes great products, I ordered this tester and it was priced reasonable and arrived on time. I wanted a tester that was simple to use around the homestead and I do recommend this product to anyone needing a quality tester for your basic electrical testing.

If it had a clamp with in rush amps and could diagnose potential start capacitors itd be godlike. But Fluke does not sell a legitamite clamp meter no matter how much money you spend. If you want that youll have to buy a fieldpiece sc440. As soon as you buy the clamp meter it can no longer effectively read accurate continuity so you need 2 meters just to do one fieldpiece sc440. And this little 45 dollar meter pretty much does everything. But to be honest when it comes to fluke meters they always have hidden stats and are very outdated. The fieldpiece sc440 is currently the closest thing there is to an ultimate meter. It has not had a single issue diagnosing every single situation. It is a little unnecesarily difficult to use which has nearly led me to improperly diagnose on a few occasions as im still getting used to it but its the only thing i put my full trust in because i have for 20 years. But for 45 this meter is practically a 500 dollar meter and will do everything but start capacitors. Dont trust it it will read that its good but its a false reading. And the fluke clamp on meter wont read to megaohms and will say you need both the 234 amd the 101 to get full functionality. But might as well just have the sc440. I do trust this for most everything and all capacitors just not starting capacitors at all. Luckily i knew from 20 years experience the part was bad and retested it with my fieldpiece. Put this one in ur car or carry it in your pocket and feel comfortable as if you had a 500 dollar meter. I believe it is 100 percent accurate except what i stated. This is a sad fact of fluke meters that nobody talks about or likely even knows. Imo fluke is crap but i still like this meter along with my 234 but honestly i only use em for back up meters to my other back up fieldpiece.

What's not to like, it's a Fluke and it's tiny and very functional.

At my age (59) I never thought id see any Flukes selling new for under $50, but this is my second of the offshore Flukes with my first being the 17B+ which I like very much and it seems fine so far - so I got this 101 as a gift for a friend and he was very happy to get his first Fluke. He just got laid off so I thought id give his holiday a small boost. If anyone has seen the extensive testing by J. Smith on YT this meter is described as very robust regarding accidental transients & such and it met or exceeded all its published specs in his extensive bench tests. Im guessing its one of the very few meters in this price range one could say this about, so even though its entry level and made in china with limited ranges it seems to be well worth the money. The biggest caveat is warranty service, it comes from china so I seriously doubt theres any offshore warranty service if you should get a bad one. I base this statement on reviews seen here and elsewhere. You (might) get it replaced by the seller within 30 days but dont count on it, though its really no bigger a gamble than any other import meter. Fluke build quality for this price is hard to argue with and makes a great first pocket meter or stocking stuffer - if you take it out of the box-lol

Fluke is a good quality meter . This particular unit is more suited to homeowners and the non-professional. The unit is easy to use and has the basic functions that would be needed for troubleshooting and repair.It is compact and can easily fit in a toolbox. I would recommend a hard case to protect it from damage.
